Setu Babakan PBB Routinely Holds Art and Culture Performance

Betawi Culture Villages (PBB) in Setu Babakan, South Jakarta keeps being developed. It is by holding cultural performance in every week.

"At least once in a week Betawi Cultural performance is held in Setu Babakan," said Head of Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department, Purba Hutapea, Thursday (11/5).

According to him, currently his side is discussing access for citizens who would like to go to PBB.

Culture Stage Event to Be Held in Sub-District Routinely

"We're still discussing the access towards there. As now the road is narrow," he told.

However, he is pretty sure that PBB could be developed. As besides the Jakarta Government, local citizens also support Betawi culture conservation there.

"Culinary industry in Setu Babakan by citizens like bir pletok (a ginger drink with palm sugar, cinnamon and Brazil wood), dodol (traditional sweets ) Betawi,  kerak telor ( kerak telor (a traditional Betawi omelet made of duck eggs and rice) have been much developed. The dances and musics never also been stopped being taught there," he explained.
